Race Results and Report by Stuart Lingham. NSW
All Schools Triathlon Championships: Last week, seven Scots students participated
in the NSW All Schools Championships at the International Regatta Centre
in Penrith. Over 600 students from all over New South Wales competed in the junior, intermediate and senior sections. The standard of competition continues to rise every year and our students performed well. The stand out performance was Harrie Weatherall In the Intermediate Boys section (600m swim, 16km cycle, 3km run) where he finished 6th overall (3rd in Independent Schools). This performance earns Harrie a spot on the NSW team to compete in the National Championships in Busselton WA in April. Fantastic result Harrie! Also in the intermediate section was Jacob Pargeter who was competing in Sydney for the first time. In the Junior Boys Section (400m swim, 12km cycle, 3km run) Sam Hodge finished 8th overall (4th in Independent Schools) Hugh Locke finished in 20th place. In the Junior Girls section Abbie Little did well in her first full triathlon. Next day Abbie, Allanah Newbold and Claudia Mudge competed in the Junior Girls Teams section and Jacob, Hugh and Tom competed in the Junior Boys Teams event. Both teams combined well to finish mid-field in their respective events. Well done to all students who participated in Sydney. We hope to see you competing next year. |
